I am undecided if I should have my bumpers on my 54 Chevy rechromed or buy the reproduction one piece bumpers sold by the many vendors of Chevrolet parts.Does anyone know if they are a good quality bumper or a Chinese knock off?

My answer would be if you get a knock off,you will always wonder why you did that.. Save your$ and have them re-plated..my 2 cents

My preference is to always replate over buying a repop. If my original is in too bad condition I'll look for a better OEM part & replate it. Nearly all repop chrome I've seen is Chinese crap.

There is another alternative. I purchased stainless steel bumpers
for my '46 pickup 15 yrs ago. Easy to keep clean and shined.
Yeah, they were Asian but good quality Asian!

So DFC,where did you find stainless bumpers for a 46 and are they a good,match???
