I have a '28 radiator on my 1928 Speedster. However, try as I might, it still leaks. While I can live with it as is, I just tripped over a 1927 radiator that appears sound.

So, will a '27 radiator fit into the radiator shell of a 1928?

A lot of the contributors here, have participated in the success of the ride. I have had a terrific time this summer with my speedster. I come back from chasing around with it, with my face hurts... from grinning so much. Thanks for all of the help.

I went to look at the '27 radiator...

The '27 radiator appears to be wider and taller that the '28 radiator, and the bottom tank is shaped much differently than that of the '28.

On the '27, the lower tank has a hole, to provide for the crank.

It occurs to me, the cross-member must be different, as the radiator must ride a couple of inches lower in the '27 than it does in a '28, or the '27 radiator mounts ahead or behind the cross-member, more likely, behind.

I hope this helps... Or others can contribute their experience...

Have you tried Bars Leak? It was recommended by a number of knowledgeable folks in another thread.

Cheers, Dean

Even cheaper...2-3 tablespoons of ground black pepper..Every old car should carry this in their E kit.

Old cars have always owned me.
