Hi 47fleetline, You are headed for trouble. Use of any device (resistor, voltage reducer, ect) to operate a 6-volt radio on 12-volts is NOT recommended. The only solution is to have the radio rebuilt as a 12-volt radio. This involves replacing the power transformer with a 12-volt unit along with modifications to the wiring internally and replacement of all the tubes with 12-volt tubes. For a copy of the Owner's Manual and the mounting brace for that radio, contact me by email. (Perhaps you intended to say a converter from 12-volts to 6-volts?)
