Sorry about the incorrect year on Dick's "1947Fleetline" "I work faster then I think What ever the case a Beautifull 47!!! No problem Bruce. Easy mistake to make. Belt mldg, Hood ornament, & T-Bar are the 3 most visible diff on the exterior and none of those really show up good in the pic. Dick

Dick, don't go so easy on Bruce. Remember just the other day we had the discussion about the "badge" above Fleetline on the trunk. 1947 only. By the way, I really like the color combo. Extra nice with the wood!!!

Great idea for a gallery! We need more of them. Mine is in 1:25 scale. Wish I had the real deal...

Brewster: Good news! Your Fleetline is ready for judging but the touring part may be rough with that plastic drivetrain. Enough corny jokes, here's another Fleetline pic from a few months ago. My Sportmaster gets out once in a while and somehow always manages to stop for a photo-op.

Rus, Well, not with the looks of yours or the misidentified one. Both are about tops in my book with CC's running a close third, or so. The Fulton is cruel and unusual punishment to the cars. The lack of fender skirts on a Fleetline is mind-boggling. If it were mine I would hide the thing until I got a set on her. Fultons? No! Skirts on a Fleetline. Absolutly! Charlie BTW: Is the instant thread merely a another attempt to pump a little activity into this "stick-together" twilight-zone forum? Won't work. Notice that other than me no one has made any comment. Nice try.

Dick, don't go so easy on Bruce. Remember just the other day we had the discussion about the "badge" above Fleetline on the trunk. 1947 only. [color:#FF0000] I forgot about that diff !!! By the way, I really like the color combo. Extra nice with the wood!!! [color:#FF0000] Thank you. The color and the wood were the two reason I bought it. I have a 47 four door Fleetline wearing the same color combination

Not wanting to be left out of this fine thread, below is a picture of my first car, a 1948 Fleetline Aerosedan, that I bought in July, 1972 for $40.00. Got me started in the hobby and the VCCA. Someone had already removed the fender stainless - probably as a result of all the fender benders. As it turns out, the rear quarters were hopelessly rusted and Cousin Dave made me scrap it. :-) We did save the motor to put in my next acquisition, a nice solid 1947 Aerosedan.

Dale, It's tough to tell the difference between your first car (pictured) and the rest of the 47s and 48s (No 46 yet). Put a visor on it and it would be ready for show. Brewster, This here is about Fleetlines and Aerosedan Fleetlines of the 46-48 era in the 46-48 Forum. 42s don't count here. I'm surprised the "stick-together" folks aren't complaining about your oversight. Nonetheless, it is an easy mistake because 42-48s all look the same. After all, for years I have argued that the 42 should be grouped with the 46-48s. But, alas it seems my logical arguments have fell on deaf ears. I think that we have seen enough of those 47/48 Fleetlines. We get it! Do too. Oh, for the love of God, show some mercy. Charlie BTW: Thank you Dale. That was a nice story. Didn't want to be left out of the thread, huh? It seems that by submitting story with the accompanying photograph that the 47-48 Fleetline frenzy has abated somewhat. Maybe finally reaching the bottom of the barrel, so to speak. I can almost hear the death knell on this thread. About time. I closer to the edge than ever. One more picture and I'm a-jumping.

Charlie is right… Why are the '42's lumped in with those lowly '41's?? They deserve better company then that!

Charlie, even though this is in the 46-48 forum..I see no where that it applies just to 46-48...Maybe it should have been moved but I see no reason for that..."Fleetline Gallery"

Glyn, Pre-war, Post war? If so then it is the only time such divider was used used. Seems to me that the original intent was to separate model years according to separation by engineering and styling features. As they were accrued over years. That should have been to only reason. Simply because no cars were made for the public during the 43-45 years is not a good reason to separate the 42 from its almost twin the 48. It is, too, hard to figger out. Charlie
