I was just looking at the AACA site (http://www.aaca.org/), and on their homepage they have a slideshow of cool cars. The last one in the sequence really surprised me - a '52 Chevy car/pickup a la El Camino! Never heard of such a thing. Is it for real? Anybody have any info on this one?

Google "Chevrolet Ute". They were built from 1928 to 1952 in Canada, and shipped CKD to Australia for sale, as well as bodied in Australia by Holden.

There were also North American companies that took Chevrolet cars and made them into "Flower Cars" for funeral homes. Only '49-'52 I've ever seen can be found in this thread… (scroll to the top, not the orange one!)

It was built out of a Belair Hardtop.

All of the Coupe Utilities above are bodies built by General Motors Holden in Australia and fitted to right hand drive imported chassis. The first Chevrolet Coupe Utilities were built here in Australia in 1934 and went out of production in 1952. The green one on the AACA site came from Queensland Australia.
