just took the head off my 31 pickup and was wondering where they usually crack that are visual to the eye. combustion chambers look good. I just thought if there are any that are visual that would save a trip to the machinist. no. on the head is 836273
Thanks Jay D.

The cylinder heads usually crack either in the valve seats or in the combustion chamber area. Some cracks cannot be seen by the naked eye. Since you already have the cylinder head off, spend the extra money and have the head magnafluxed and then you will know exactly what condition the cylinder head is in.
