small problem! I'm taking the head off of my 31 and can't get the sender out of the head. I have the jamb nut off but can't pull the bulb out. is there a trick to this, I sure don't want to damage it.
thanks Jay D.

The sending unit is brass and it has probably corroded itself to the side of the hole in the cylinder head. Since the capillary tube is soldered to the sending unit you can not use heat to remove it. Try liberal amounts of penetrating oil, let it soak and then try it again.

If you do damage the sending unit in trying to remove it from the cylinder head, you can purchase a complete new water temperature gauge and sending unit assembly from the Filling Station. www.fillingstation.com

thanks, I got it out. a couple hours of penetrating oil and a few lite taps with a screwdriver did it.
