No doubt that's a lot, but even at the current price, those fender skirts are way cheaper than I have seen them sell for in the past couple of years. Actually, I have seen them go for as high as $1,500 in past!

Ya, this new game of "Find The Moron" is fun. Problem is......they are easy to find on eBay since there are morons all over the place! Bow Wow Wow and Wow!! ha ha! laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

How people want to spend(waste?) their own money is o.k. by me-I myself would spend the time to do a little research on what I would buy. The main thing is you have to not regret anything later!!!
I am sure that many of us have underpaid and overpaid on certain items. O well! I guess it balances out in the end. By the way, I have a

A mere $560 for fender skirts? Ha! My compass is up to $1,925.00 and the final 8 hour bidding maddness hasn't even started yet!

I still bet the winner never uses it to find their way. I mean, for that price I could buy two GPS systems plus Onstar! auto

Just wanted to add I had emailed the owner of the skirts at the beginning of the auction for some pictures of the trim ends of the skirts to see if they were reproduction and yes they definitely were but he said they weren't but pictures don't lie I hope the winner is happy with his 250.00 skirts for 500 +.

I guess 41 parts are in high demand. Here are some used fender guards for $242: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...1&category=42606&item=2447754361

I believe these are aftermarket. I have some on my 41 and they don't look the same...

$4.85 + $3.85 shipping = $8.70 for a picture of a steering wheel.

The used 1941 Chevy rear fender guards looked like they were worth about $30 tops. Who would have thought that $242 would be the selling price !!!! Absurd. But we must always remember that even though someone is now paying $242 + shipping for the fender guards, someone else was willing to pay $240 for this item. So we have at least 2 folks out there with a distorted view of antique aftermarket items.
As far as megabucks for a picture $8.70 ( of which $3.85 is shipping costs), I came to realization along time ago, that the shipping costs MUST be figured in when I am bidding on an item. If the seller doesn't state a fixed shipping cost, I have been known to email the seller BEFORE the auction ends to request an estimated cost for shipping of the item to me.

1942aerosedan, I've seen them go for $100 - $200 depending on how bad someone wants it that week. (And I bet the winner's wife never even does her makeup with it!) And I've seen them advertised for even more.

Or you could just sell it toi me for an undisclosed some at a generous VCCA discount... newangel

I still think this holds the record for "overpriced". mad devil

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34206&item=2446012615

Not only is it overpriced but the JYD has figured out that the seller has put 2 pieces together that don't go together to make 1 very fake item. And then he has enough nerve to try and convince people it is "special", etc. curse

I emailed the seller a couple of weeks ago (as did others) and told him that the mirror is a fake, but he didn't even have the courtesy to answer. Would you buy anything from this guy? I sure wouldn't! Gator is right......this auction is probably one of the biggest rip offs for Chevrolet parts on eBay. mad mad mad :( :( :( :(

If I understand correctly, his next auction item is a complete Piltdown Man fossil, which was discovered alongside this "1939" mirror clock. bigl
