I have this item and was curious if any members are familiar with it. It is in a
GM Accessories box stating it fits Aerosedans and some Olds/Pontiacs. The shade is metal, like louvers that fit over the back window.
Any interest in this? It's in excellent shape.
Thanks!
Steve

Thanks for the info!
I've just listed it on ebay under 1942 1946 1947 and 1948 Chevrolets.

The part number listed for this item is #986196. Rear Window Sunshade Unit - Group 15.350. I found the part number in my 1929-1949 Chevrolet Master Parts Catalog as being removed on 2-1-49. The #986196 does not show up in the 1947 or 1948 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs that I have. Is this part really an original Chevrolet item or was it a cross-over item from the same body style made by Pontiac and Oldsmobile sold in late 1948/1949 in order to get rid of excessive stock?

Early in the auction it was up to around $300 and when I looked a day or two later it said auction ended and said it sold for $100.

There were five different bidders and the price was up to $300. The seller ended the auction and cancelled all bids, therefore the auction was reset back to the original opening bid of $100 and then closed. Weird!  :( mad

Sellers sometimes get offers like, "I'll pay $1000 and pick it up from your house if you close the auction and sell it to me now."

They close the auction, then pay eBay fees based on starting bid (like $100).

Some people don't fail to amaze me the owner of the shade emailed me and asked if I could beat his current offer of 2500.00 for the shade it would be mine as inviting as the offer was I must admit I had to pass, so if anyone else finds a rear window shade for 42-48 Chevrolet Aerosedan please email me . I can't go over 2500.00 but I can come close

Why not? Heck if a rear window shade is worth that kind of money, the same dude would probably give you a million for your coupe too. Sounds right to me! yipp drink drink drink drink
