May not be getting enough fuel. Check flow from gas tank and on to the carb. There may be other reasons, as well. The others will soon join in and give you some better advice. Have you been running gasoline with ethanol? If so, then there you go. (reference Discussion Forum) Best, Charlie

Ethanol has it's faults but I doubt that is the problem here. I have run ethanol 10% in every thing I own for over 10 years and have not had a serious problem with it. I dislike the stuff for many reasons but my personal experience running it in every thing from the weed eater, two motor cycles, 3 cars and lots of other stuff has been pretty good. The first thing I would do here is refer to the shop manual or a good after market manual and follow the information given on diagnosing problems.

5yrs ago i replaced all fuel lines, new gas tank, new fuel pump.so last night my fuel pump gave up.so i thought maybe this was my issue, but its not.i have not changed the points.for some reason im leaning toward my gas hardline from the fuel pump to fuel filter.it goes in between the thermo housing and valve cover.i made it out of brake hardline, maybe it's to thin and the gas is evaporating because of the heat.so im gonna put on a gas rubber hose and see if that solves it.

You might want to check and change the fuel filter.

This is a 5 year old post and chebby48 hasn't posted in a couple years so might be best to post details on your specific problem so others can provide some feedback on it...

The down hill line will not draw gas out of the carb. fuel bowl.
