I have a 1102667 40's generator with a date code 1D10. When was it manufactured? 1940, 1950 or 1960?

The one is a year, D the month and 10 the day of the month.

So it could be April 10, 1941.

Thanks Dave, how does one know it was not made in 1951 before the 12 volt units were made?

The 1102667 number was used from 1940-1948. Was discontinued in 1949 and changed to 1102672. 1102672 was changed to 1102737 in 1950, 1102737 is listed in the 1950 parts book as being for a 1940-1948.
So it originally was installed on a 1941 car (at the factory)....or bought through parts from as new from that time frame.
