have friend with 72 monte,very low mileage(moms car)brakes needed attention.pedal goes to floor thought leaking somewhere but found no leaks.put new fluid in bled brakes but couldnt get driver side bleeder screw to turn.used air bleeder system got all all old stuff out.pumped up got full pedal and figured thats it .next morning pedal goes to floor MC(NEW) still full.does the proportioning valve have a bleeder screw or does it automatically reset itself after brakes have been correctly bled.have not worked on car myself just going by what am told.i said you HAVE to get driver side to bleed or you still have air.told them to get 2 new rear wheel cylinders and go from there any ideas to help them out thanks

Yes you have to get all of the bleeders open, then go from there to see if you have any other problems once all the air is out of the system.

Use a socket on the bleeder screw, not a wrench.

On the porportining valve there is black boot depress that boot under that is a check valve. With all of the bleeders open that could cause a problem. I would do one at a time starting at the right rear all others closed, then left rear, right front and then left front.
If you don't see any signs of a leak keep in mind it could be the master dumping fluid into the booster. There is a weep hole but they tend to rust up
