Ihave a 6 volt coil for a 1928 chevy with a resister on top, it seems to have shut down on me. I imagine there are more than a few here that have dealt with these so, I wonder if I could prevail upon your good nature and get some resistance numbers. Thank you.....

The wire used for the resistance unit is resistive wire. It can be inspected by sight to check that both ends are still connected. Inspect the wire to insure it is not broken. As a test, remove the restive unit and see if the car will run, if it does it may be the resistive unit. You can always use a modern coil as a test. If it runs-----------!

Thank you.....As it turns out, upon inspection, this one didn't have a resistance wire just the standard green one which led to an old type coil resistor on the top of the coil. I put a new style in and it works but, I wanted to keep the old if it was going to work. My primary resistance was 1.3 ,which I thought might be alright but the secondary was 2.350 which I isn't sure about. I was looking for someone who knew and could tell me so I knew whether it was a spare coil or a conversation piece.
