A friend is looking at a 40 Special Delux 2dr the car number plate was in a box. The plate number is 1KA11 5785 but the number on the title is 2KA0234233. Car has legal title just wonder what the plate was from

That's a serial number plate, not to be confused with a VIN which was used many years after.
One of the 2 of them don't belong. You have 2 different assm. plants & months apart. Is the Fisher body tag still attached? That's the one with the job number. If it's still attached to the body, what is on line 2? It will be a letter & number(s).
