Can anyone help please, I know this has been talked about before and I have gone to the carb shop website but was not able to identify my carb. I have what what I believe is a Martin Schebler Allstate 2405 carb. Apparently there is a number of different 2405 models.
There are no numbers on the carb other than the patent number which is how I was able to identify it. I don't know if this was a replacement since that seems to be what most things I read, but can someone please help me identify what is or was the correct carb for my car. My car is model 30557, engine # 209731. Car number AD80281. HELP

Hello Genem,
Check out the posts labelled 'Mystery Carb' by John Cunningham, about 6 or 7 posts down from your post. You may be able to talk with the people who can help identify your carb.

The carburetor is a 40s - 50s replacement. Don't know of anyone that is rebuilding them or has kits. Original 1930 carburetor is a Carter RJH-08 or C-RJH-08.

The correct carburetor for your 1930 would be a Carter updraft Model 150-S.

I have gone to the carb shop website but was not able to identify my carb.

Go back to "The Carburetor Shop" web site, click on the contact information and then give them a phone call.

Ok guys, so it's been determined that this is not the original. Since I need to replace it what would be the best replacement in terms of running. It doesn't matter if it is original I just want it to run properly

The Carter 150-S, which is the original carburetor, is the best carburetor to use. Not only does it run great but repair kits and internal parts are easy to obtain for that carburetor from various suppliers.

The original Carter works well. They are available on eBay as used cores, rebuilt???, or I have rebuilt carbs on the shelf. I have sent you a PM with more details.

So after lots of thinking I got my car running although it still needs feather it to run up. While I had it running I decided to adjust the timing. While it was running I noticed a buble in the fuel bowl go up and the motor skipped. Any ideas
