There are two sizes used on Canadian based headlights. One is the normal #63 which has a base width of app. 9/16 and a smaller one with a base width of 3/8. The smaller ones are harder to find but often turn up at swapmeets.

i doubt that if anyone over here in a parts shop would know wot a #63 globe is?? You won't know until you go down to the parts house and ask. If they can't get a #63 bulb, you can still order one on the Internet from places like the Filling Station. www.fillingstation.com

In 40 odd years on the spanners here in Aus I have not heard of globes by the numbers you US boys use. I must admit I havent used 6 volt globes for years as I generally need 12v and occassionally 24v. Tony

the 3 candle power #63 was the correct tail lamp bulb for all years that had a two bulb thail light. I would recommend going to a 6 candle power #81 bulb which is the same size, The brake light bulb was a 15 C.P. #87 and I refitted the lamp with a 21 CP #1129. The ultimate is the LED filled lens that is sold by the Filling Staton. Very expensive and SUPER bright.

Super bright is important these days as there is so much other light in the city at night. Dad was stopped by the cops with his 6 volt system because they thought his tail light was out. Then when they looked they would change there mind...lighted streets! Before the 1960's streets and roadways were not lit at night and 6 volt systems were real bright. I can well remember those days. Good luck with your bulbs.

tail light brake or running bulbs. in this case you want to have the brightest lights back there you can. I bought ron francis wireworks , BRITE BULBS B-1005 I believe. Much more candle power than stock. Another un-thought of problem is DARK RED GLASS. You want a lighter red glass for running and brakes. just hold the lens up to the light and look at it. You might also want to consider Harley Davidson motorcycle dresser , accessory tail lights, they look like stock 1932-1935 cowl lights. Mount them to top bolt on your luggage rack to only come on when brake pedal is pushed . mike lynch

Brand new Indian Royal Enfields still use them. I bought a packet from my local dealer. Cheap as chips and smelled faintly of curry.
