My new-to-me 1931 3-window coupe hot-rod has had the side window glass and any associated parts removed. The seller said he planned to put in electric windows, but didn't get to it. Power window kits assume you have the glass!
Is there a source for this item? Many thanks for any help.

I would suggest you contact any glass shop in your town who can cut the glass to your specifications. Glass is very heavy and therefore expensive to ship, and your work can be done locally. Good luck with your project.

Hello SkipLaughlin, It has been mentioned that back in the 30's that there was no safety glass used in these vehicles. The recommendation to replace windows with safety glass is a good one. I do not have a 1931 3-window coupe. Those who do, may be able to supply you with the dimentions needed to make your glass. As for any associated parts that were removed, did the seller not keep those for future use with the power window mod? You may have to search for parts or do some creative custom window work.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Further googling turned up two places that offer restoration custom/hot rod glass. Sanders Reproduction Glass had drop down selection screens for year, make, and model. I went right to the exact glass I need with options on tinting, logo, and edge finish. They quoted online $77 per door, plus $30 ground shipping, waiting on the other vendor. I consider the cost reasonable.

I agree with Antique Mechanic about checking with a local shop. You should be able to have one custom cut locally for a lot less $$$$. Also if you do have one shipped in be sure that it is guaranteed to be in good condition when received as some carriers will not insure glass shipments.

I agree with Steve as I had a new windshield cut for our 32 sedan and the local glass guy already had a pattern!!! He used my old plate glass to work on the fit and it is excellent....Cost was 50 bucks.
