Can someone please tell me how to remove the knob from the cowl vent handle on my 1937.
I thought maybe it screwed off but it doesn't seem to budge.

The one on my car tends to fall off because the rubber insert is deteriorated. The metal lever is serrated to hold the knob on. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow.

Is the diameter of the handle the same as the gear shift and emergency brake extension?
Knowing that would make getting a new knob possible before the original breaks off trying to remove it.

You won't remove it without destroying it. They aren't made to be removed. Why do you want to remove it? You can remove the lever without removing the knob if that's what you're wanting to do. I have an extra knob/lever in the garage I can take a picture of if it'll help you.

I would like to change the knob to one that matches the shifter knob and the knob on the accessory parking brake extension lever. The knob on the vent lever is black the other 2 are brown.

Yes I suppose I can, or just leave it black. I thought maybe it was threaded. That would meke it an easy project.

Thanks for the e mail pics. Hope I have the nerve to drill into my nice bright fenders!!! I assume you're referring to the fender light thread. I remember someone a while back saying the repop lights don't have the same fastener spacing as the OEM light like I have. You might check that. If that's true the measurements for hole drilling on the instructions will not be accurate to your lights.
