I was wondering if anyone can cut me a couple of keys for my '32.All the key places I've checked around here don't carry this blank. The one I have is a "Yale Junior #CH548 ".It was made by Yale&Towne Mfg. Co. It's the only one I have so I need a couple of extras.

I just had one cut for my 32 electrolock and the blank used was made by Independent Lock co. # B1. It was available at an Ace Hardware Store.

Yes, a B1 will work. The correct modern one is a Y14 (Curtis). Both of these aren't hard to find normally.

I have seen them listed as being factory installed on 1931-2 Chevys but never saw a Yale Junior electrolock. All I have are B&S with a C xxxx key code. At least all that I can get the lock cylinder out so I can see the key code number. Have a bunch that have the key cylinder frozen. Only a pitiful few have I been able to get to turn and save. Have had one soaking in penetrating oil for years. Still stuck! Maybe one of them is a Yale Junior.

Key code CH548 is 22443. Any good locksmith should be able to cut from the code or duplicate from the key. My book shows a YJ 22-R key blank. A B-1 might be a modern replacement. Don't have the interchange listing for it.

The key that I copied was also made by Independent Lock Co. of Fitchburg Ma. and has the number 1098M on it. Fitchburg Ma. is close to where I live, however I purchased the electrolock at the Anniversary Meet in Springfield Il.

I have a 1930 key code book and a 1936 key code book and both do list CH codes and at the top of the page it says Yale-Yale Junior,Miller, Chevrolet and I have some of these keys marked as such so I guess they were used but less common than Briggs & Stratton.

Years ago when I had keys made for electrolocks the "locksmith" used B2 blanks and they worked fine.

I've used both B-1 and B-2 blanks for those locks. Both work well.

I have found that a B-10 will also work.

Thanks for all the replies. I finally found a locksmith (60 mile round trip) that had Y14's.They work perfectly.Got several to be sure.I found locksmiths with older style keys are hard to find anymore. You would think in Orlando there would be plenty............Not so !
