I am trying to find a backing plate for a 1925 26 light switch with the dim on off stamped into it. There was someone in Australia rebuilding these switches - do any of the ausy members know if they are stilling operating and if so how might I contact them

The face of the 25 ignition switch is metal and is part of the switch. The lettering is indented and is to be painted with white paint after the face receives a coat of gloss black. I have never seen a decal for the 25 switch.

The ones I have are badly rust pitted - the later switches (1928>) appear to have had some kind of celluloid cover reproductions of which are available.

Yes, there is a reproduction cover for the 1928. The 25 would have to be sanded and then painted gloss black and the depressed information painted in white. Having restored several of those switches, painting the white is a super chore.
