I have a 31 Standard Coupe that I want to pin stripe.
I was wondering what people have done for their striping.
There is a company call TCP Global that has two different
techniques for striping. One uses a stick on stencil and
the other is called the Beuglar Striper.
Has anyone used either of these products and if so what were your
results.

Hi Randy...In using the stick on stencil, I have not had a lot of success. With the Beugler Tool, it is a good product but my hands were not good enough any longer and I just could not make it work on flat surfaces but seams worked out pretty good as they were useful as guides. I finally had ours done by a professional pin striper who had done tons of hot rods. He is about 80 and his hands are as still as they were 40 years ago; amazing fellow. While I did not need a lot done, its was well worth the 100 bucks he charged. Held up for 7 years.....I would recommend finding someone to do it and do it well.

If you don't have a pro do it you will always whsh you did. I have used the Beugler on wheels of newer cars and it works fine for something like that. I made a fixture to get a perfect circle.

There is a company that sells reverse stencils. You lay out the stripe as you want it and then remove the center taping. You can either brush or spray the line on and let it dry.
I used it on my 31 Sedan and it came out great! Here's the Website for you. http://www.finessepinstriping.com/ Al W.

Randy, I asked the same question a while back. I settled on the reverse stencil method. I'll post my results when I get around to it.

Best Regards, Pat

Randy,
The Finesse reverse tapes work great. I'm putting my stripes on right now. They do not offer the correct size for '31 in their stock offerings, but you can order a roll of the right size - 3/64" x 1/4" x 3/64" - for $35. You'll have a lot left, but that's okay.

Make sure that the tape guides are very well attached after you remove the cover tape or you will get some bleeding out.

If your stripes are Cream Medium, The Filling Station is now offering the exact match color in high quality acrylic enamel. I'd recommend using a few drops of reducer and a drop of hardner in the paint to help with application and long term protection.
Happy Motoring!
