I'm helping my dad restore this beautiful car. We have one full door handle with bar mechanism but still need Driver's side (bar and handle). Some advice suggests same handle and bar fits both sides. Doesn't seem to be the case for us - maybe doing something wrong? Or handle is same on both sides but not the bar mechanism? would be great to talk to someone who has restored a 32 roadster!

Stick around someone with knowledge on a 32 will answer you. I would think the handles are the same Lt. to Rt. By the way WELCOME to the VCCA Chat site.

Hi there and welcome to Chevy Chatter.

The inside door handles are the same and they are available from the Filling Station. www.fillingstation

The door window regulators are different....there is a left and a right.

Same handle and link to door latch. Mount for handle is different (right and left). The handle, mount and link were originally and assembly which made them different.

Despite the JYD's post there was no door window regulator on a Roadster. They used side curtains. I think he was thinking door latch but typed window which happens more often the older we get. Yes there are two mirror image door latches.

Yep, Chippy, you are correct. I meant to type "door latch". Man, this getting old thing totally sucks! Thanks for the clarification!

Skippy,
If I hadn't had a few of those moments where the brain and fingers didn't coordinate correctly I might be more critical when others stumble a bit. As long as nobody gets physically injured (not mental) and the answer gets out then all is good.
