Can anyone tell me the correct colors the jack was painted for 1946 model 1007 not that I am going to use it but would like to paint it correctely for show purpose.

The center post of the jack is what I would call metal color.It was not plated.Most have become rusty and a dull silver paint is acceptable.The base,handle,& ratcheting mechanism is black.Semigloss would be prefered to a real shiney black.

For the vertical shaft of the jack, I have seen them bead blasted and then painted with a satin clear finish. That way it doesn't rust and it will give that "natural metal" finish.
