I've got a front axel, wheels, etc. from a late 40's Chevy truck. The drums have 6 lug studs. The dust caps that I got to replace the ones that came with the drums don't allow enough room for the axel shaft. Old caps: look like regular dust caps, with the diameter of the cap outside of the drum being the same as the dia. inside the drum. The new caps: The diameter of the cap that fits inside the drum is not the same as the diameter that is outside the drum, in fact, what appears outside the drum is just a rounded bump, & there is insufficient room to accommodate the axel shaft. Have any in the "truck community" here run into this problem, & if so, where did you get the correct dust cap? Thanks.

I would try Jim Carter Truck parts and The Filling Station to see if they have the correct dust caps for your application. Good Luck.
