As a sort of follow up to the Fender Guide posts in the 33-36 Forum, and because the poster got away without being scolded for not listing in a more appropriate forum, i am trying the same thing because this is not about any accessory, per se.
Anyway here goes:
I don't have a fender guide on my 41 but was considering it for the 41 project. I think the lighted up ones look really cool during hours of reduced visibility (night in

.)
My problem with mounting one is that it will be a neusense to take off and put on all the time. Let me explain:
Early this past Saturday I parked the 41 coupe at Walmart to go in and buy some apple fritters for the guys at the flea-market. I parked a good ways from any other cars. When I came out I saw a dude circling my car. When he saw me coming he then went an got into his own vehicle and left. Soon after I started up and drove out of the parking lot, I soon noticed that the peep mirror was loose. Real loose. I think he tried to get it off but couldn't wiggle it enough. I KNOW that it was tight when I parked. Now, I ask you, what if the dude had took a fancy for a fender guide? Can you imagine the resulting damage?.
Anybody know what I'm talking about here? I doubt that a fender guide would last long in a parking lot or where you were not right there to ward off a curious child. Even grown ones.
Charlie
Note: I use a small piece of metal as a spacer for the top screw tip on the peep mirror. It was gone. Another thing I remembering meeting the dude in the parking lot as I was going in and he was coming out. He probably reasoned that I wouldn't likely be back for at least a few minutes.
