I have recently installed a rear back-up light on my 1948 Sport Coupe and need to know how it is supposed to be wired into the harness.

It doesn't wire to the "harness"...You must have one of several contraptions that are on the steering column under the hood that a wire will hook to...and run it back...Or go with a "toggle" switch under your dash...Just don't forget to turn it off... laugh
I have several of these things...Some use a wire...Some are hooked the the linkage...You can find them on eBay...I'm still not sure which one I'm gonna run with...

The back-up light was not standard equipment therefore was not a part of the original harness nor was there a provision it. Since it was an accessory, wire, switch and the actual unit needed to be added/installed. see the following:

Thanks Kevin-Johnny I think I will be using a (ACC) accessory switch that gets mounted under the dash to the left of the steering column next to the HEAT/FOG/DEF.
