Guys,
I just replaced my water pump in my '37 and 1 of my bolts broke. I didn't have the one of the same length to replace it so I used one with about 5 washers for a temporary fix. Does anyone know where I can find the replacement bolts for that or can at least tell me the size and lenth of them so I can go to an auto parts place to fin them? Of course it seems that all 4 are different lengths. Thanks in advance...

You should be able to go to the hardware store and buy a 3/8 coarse thread bolt. You can measure to find out the length you need but you will probably end up having to cut the new bolt off to the correct length. Make sure the bolt doesn't bottom in the hole. The cylinder casting is close to the front of the block.

Get a good quality hardened bolt from a hardware store. Use the "washered" bolt for length.

I see that you live in Louisiana. The state has 43 Fastenal dealers so another alternative is going to a supplier that handles a variety of bolts in a variety of strengths and sizes. This might provide you a bolt that looks more original and is the right length and strength. The costs of these bolts from industrial suppliers will be much higher than hardware prices, but you are only buying a few and they should last as long as your original bolts. There must be other fastener suppliers in your state that are servicing industry there.
You may want to locate a VCCA Club member in your state and ask them for recommendations.
Good luck, Mike
P.S. I have enjoyed visiting with Curt Kennedy (CSKennedy10) from Calhoun,LA. He is restoring a 40 Chevy. He is a piano tuner that used to be in an airplane business so has a lot of fastener experience. Send him a PM I'm sure he would enjoy chatting with you or a phone conversation. Let me know if you need help getting a hold of him.
Best wishes, Mike
