when ever you see a rusted bolt and nut, make sure you spray the part ***many times*** with a RUST BUSTER OR PENETRANT of some kind to break the rust. And let it soak in over a day to do its job.

Then carefully try to loosen the nut off without breaking anything. One spray is just not enough.

I corrected your spelling for you so people can more easily understand what your asking.

try looking thru the online catalogue of THE FILLING STATION. They have display ads on here. I have a copy and will poke around thru it to se if they sell the gas tank straps.

When I'm faced with a rusted bolt like that, I use a hand wire brush FIRST , before spraying with penetrating oil, to remove as much dry rust as possible. Then, I use liberal amounts of PB Blaster. I agree with leaving it overnight. Less rusty mush is good.

Try to hold the bolt with a large pair of pliers (try to keep it from twisting) and work the nut back and forth to let the penetrating oil get into the nut's threads.

One fix for the leak, would be to clean the area and put a blob of JB Weld on the leak spot. This is a no-heat, safe thing to do.

You might want to have the tank professionally cleaned and de-rusted to ensure you don't have other problems that will plague you later.

Cheers, Dean
