I am getting ready to install the front fender extensions to the doors on my '48 Fleetmaster. Is there supposed to be an anti squeak cushion between the door and the extension, or do they bolt metal to metal?

There is a black rubberized filler between the door cap and the door. It is thin and really doesn't show from the outside.

Thanks for the info. It was metal to metal when I removed them, but that didn't seem right to me

great job! I am purchasing a 47 convertible. I dont think I will have the $ to do what you did, but Im excited & nervous about this project as Im buying it in pieces. I was hoping you had a pic of the inner fenders and braces before the front fenders went on. Is it possible you have those? I live in Calif too, near LA. Im going to Tenn to pick up the 47, & inventory the pieces; its supposed to be all there. Were they all called cabriolets? I could use any advice (& parts) you might have. Thanks Broo
