I have half a dozen rims and only about 3 intact clips - does anyone know a source of replacement clips or alternative methods of attaching the 1925 rim to the head light drum. Ken

Does your rim come off by pushing and twisting to the left, or does it have a clamp with a screw?

It is the early 1925 type nickel plated brass rim that you push and turn. It has four spring clips riveted to the inside of the rim. These typically brake from old age or if the rim is removed incorrectly. I could drill the rivets out and replace them with screws of some sort but thought someone may have found a better option. ken

Obviously someone has been modifying your headlights. Originally there were 4 special flat springs that was snapped into the bucket. There were 4 of them that matched the 4 studs on the removable ring. If you drill the 4 studs out you would have no place on the bucket to place a screw.

MY description obviously got lost in translation. My rims are unmodified . I will try and post a picture to clarify what I am talking about.

OK, you are talking about the clips that hold the glass in the rim. That is a tough one. I had a fellow remove all 4 studs and replace the clips and reinstall. You should be able to do the same.

Hi Bopnz Is it this type of clips you need? It can easily be made of 0,6 mm spring steel ![[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.us]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/89/gcdw.jpg)

That is what we are talking about. You sure did a nice job of making them. I thank there is a market for that item.

I believe those are the clips that hold the glass in, not the retainer clips. I have a 23 and all of the hardware was intact except for one clip. I fabricated one from a piece of spring steel taken from pallet banding. Works perfect.

OK, you are talking about the clips that hold the glass in the rim. I think that is what we had decided.
