I noticed that in the pre- and post-war years, the body-proper is nearly identical between these three cars (Chevy, Olds, Pontiac).

On the latter two, the b-pillars (and perhaps even the a-pillars) are a bit wider, but the shell looks exactly the same.

Can anybody confirm or refute whether Fischer Body used the exact same dies to form the shells of all three makes? (With regard to the 2-door fastbacks, of course.)

The Fisher "A" bodies were used on ALL 1941-1948 Chevrolet models, the small Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and in 1941 and 1942 small Buicks. The basic body shells were the same however the floor structure was different due to mounting on various frames, they all had an X type frame except Chevrolet. The Chevrolet had an open center in the frame so the floor pan got extra structal bracing.
You could cut the top off of a Cevrolet and weld it to any of the other make bodies. Doors were the same except for the stamping for the shorter Chevrolet fender cap. Quarter panels different due to size and shape of tail lights. Firewall different. Body hardware and glass all the same.

I'm still then a little confused. I'd swear by looking at many pictures on the Web, that several cars seem to have wider b-pillars and, perhaps, all around all of the side windows. Is this an illusion?

Generally speaking, if the pillars are thicker, the windows get smaller (at least as far as the door and quarter glass are concerned).

Its probably an illusion. The door from a Chevrolet could be mounted on an Olds or Pontiac and all glass, door, windshield etc. is the same.
