Wondering how rare or "uncommon" '33 Cabriolets are? Require info on or source for the Window Frames. Also the Top Irons (or Bows) - any reproduction parts or "interchangeable" parts work - if so, what? Off a '33 Roadster, maybe. Thanks in advance for any help, guys!!!!!

None of those parts interchange with each other & as a matter of fact the roadster does not have side windows. The roadster body was made by Chevrolet & the cabriolet by Fisher. They may fit other GM built cabriolets. All are rare & very sought after & next to impossible to find parts for....Joe

That guy we spoke about in DORCHESTER ONTARIO , I believe has one for sale, or parts, check with him.

You can also check with Glen Rarick in Lafargeville NY...usa

Like JOE said, the cabriolet is made by FISHER BODY...same as COUPE'S , SEDANS . The roadster and touring are made by an outside body manufacturer, **I** call Chevrolet body works .

The windshield frame would be common to the cabriolet only should be 33--34 master.?? The window winder mechanisms should be same as closed fisher cars as should the hinges, strikers, dove tails, latches. I would think the dash panel might be special to the cabriolet ?

I just remembered a car I saw from ajax Ontario Canada, a red cabriolet.

Started life as a 33 Chevrolet master frame, then he bought a 34-35 standard 3 window coupe and actually cut the top off it. He then took a Cadillac 33--34 ? cast windshield assembly and narrowed it to fit on the the 34-35 cowl section. He altered the door skin to look exactly like the correct cabriolet one.

He used a 34 chev master dash panel. Converted the trunk into a rumble seat. Put dual side mounts in the fenders with stock 17" wire wheels. He installed some kind of independent front suspension and late model pre 2003 S-10 rear end. I think he used either a 4.3 S10 V-6 motor or the 3.8 V-6

Some people just want to create way more work than need be. As I was talking to Ray, I kept thinking , why ? To each his own.

Joe and Mike have this correct,
Roadsters are different from Cabriolets.
The windshield frames are not interchangeable.
Glen Rarick reproduces windshield parts for both these cars.
His work is excellent. He makes some top parts as well.
1933 and 1934 Cabriolets share many of the same windshield parts.
David Entler made wood kits for 1933 Cabriolet and Jim Rodman made wood kits for 1934. Does anyone know if these guys are still doing business or have they retired?

Dave Entler told me he was not doing wood kits anymore , sometime last year 2013. Health reasons he said. But I saw a post in this group quite a while ago that said he was still doing them ?

Luckily a fellow in Knoxville knew of a wood kit in somebodys florida shop. They were the patterns of glenn stauffer of jekyl isle Georgia fame. The parts all had his name all over them in marker, actually I think they were his original patterns. Only thing missing was the seat surround top holding area that goes from rear post to rear post. I had fun making that from scratch, all summer long it seemed.

I was never able to get rodman to answer an email , nor the telephone.

I just bought wood from Jim and he is shipping it this week. No hint he was retiring.
