The cable from the heater control to the passenger fresh air vent is frozen,I can`t slide the lever on the heater control.Does anyone sell premade heater/defrost/fresh air vent control cables for a 54 BelAir or do I have to make my own?

I had one frozen too. I just bought a choke cable or something off EBay and cut off the one end. I might have got it at NAPA?

Did you try shooting some WD40 or PB Blaster in it. That usually does the trick to free it up.

Another neat trick I discovered was Simple Green. If you put a rusted bolt in a cup with straight, undiluted SG and let it soak, it comes out shiny as new!!
