Here is a link to AC filters. The Fram filters are different colors. http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/engines/oil%20filters/#50

Note that AC made several different oil filters in all years and Chevrolet cars used only one of them. The 1948 AC filter that Chevrolet sold for adding on was yellow with a black lid. If the filter was installed at the factory (was also an option) it was all black.

Here's one from Johnnys collection ![[Linked Image from i563.photobucket.com]](http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/chefchevy/Oil%20Filters/ac-filter.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i563.photobucket.com]](http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/chefchevy/Oil%20Filters/eng321.jpg) I would not agree this was 37-54 I feel it was unique to 48 because of the attaching plate used

Yeah...Some years don't appear to have the mounting strap that goes all the way around...Just spot welded to the back...

While it fits many years it is what Chevrolet sold from 1947-1949. They were orange and blue (or balck if factory installed) from 1950 and up - with no band.
