I know the gears are different, there are 3.55 gear sets reproduced for the pickups. I am sure someone else will know how easy the whole rear end swap would or would not be.

Other than bearing the truck differential and ring gear and pinion is all slightly larger than the passenger car.

It would not be a bolt in. It would take some fabrication to make it work.

The springs mount to the axle housing in a different manner and the torque tube from the truck will not fit the car housing and the torque tubes of the two are of different lengths. The truck has wheel/axle 6 lugs and the car 5, the car banjo housing provides for a different tread width than a truck.

I image it could be done but it will require hours & hours of fabrication, adaptation & mixing/matching of parts. Would be a whole lot easier & way cheaper to use the 3:55 gears & simply bolt them into your existing truck rear end. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=725977
