Tiny or anyone who has a 38..... can you tell me if once you add a V rod support to a car that doesn't have one now do you need to put washers under the front bolts or screws out at the grill end also to match the thickness of the V rod support itself where it bolts on or is it not a big difference?

Out on the core support I believe mine is just bolted down without washers. I'll have to go look to verify that though. This is the best pic I have right now showing that area. If you need more detail I'll have to go out to the garage later and take more pics.

The part I'm questioning is the very front part above the grill where the trim bolts down. Seems the thickness of the V rod would need to be matched out at that anchor point also or the chrome trim piece would have a slight down angle. I haven't pulled it apart yet just want to get my ducks in a row first. Thanks.

Never mind i found out the hard way the whole hood came off on me. I had the wife helping me figured it wasn't a big deal well that slick SS V rod let her slip away. I thought the rear of the hood was through bolted through the cowl i know better now.

I've got a picture of that part now that it's too late. blush

This pic shows a bit better where the front of the V rod mounts. This is a pre-restoration picture. The hood hinge mounts in front of the radiator and the V rod behind it. As you discovered the back of the hinge mounts with a pinch bracket. There's a nut under the dash that you loosen to remove it (normally) laugh.
