Is this is merely more "snake oil" as the rotary engine is/was. You are never going to beat the steadiness and reliability of an inline six.
The real important question about this engine is, will it run on good old 10 percent ethanol laced gasoline? 91 octane? Plan on spending another 40-50 cents per gallon. You gonna get that much extra milage? Anything fails on this engine we can always blame super efficient and helpful ethanol. Right?
What is the weak part of this engine: The rotating gizmo that lifts the pistons and rotates the shaft, I would suspect. What kind and weight oil will lubricate it. What cools it?
Would you take to the air relying on one of these gadgets? It'll never fly.
Let's see. Five cylinders equals 72 degrees of spacing. While six cylinders offer 60 degrees of spacing. Much smoother operation.
What will be the cost of this concept? Astronomical? Who knows.
How will it do under load pulling a heavy vehicle and loaded trailer.
Looks like to me that someone had a nightmare and then convinced some government to grant funds to play around with this thing. Is this an

Australian or Canadian

hiccup?
Are you jumping of the bandwagon too soon?
