Who sells an original looking PLAIN unpainted gas cap, I don't want a chrome or stainless cap, I want to paint it body color.

The only thing that I can think of is painting a chrome cap.

Gene's right...Although, there is one on eBay right now that says it's made to paint...Made by "Central"...Type in "Chevy gas cap central" Buy it now $14.99...It's painted red at the moment...I was thinking perhaps a cap from a truck might come painted, but I guess not...

You can take any cap that fits and sandblast the original finish off of it so it can be painted.

Good luck, Mike

I just bought a driveable 48 Chev 2 dr sedan Stylemaster for parts and it appears the original fuel cap is present and in good shape.I will bead blast it and repaint Ocean green like my 47 Stylemaster. The 48 even had those small metal caps that fill the 2 spaces between the rad and the rad craddle.BONUS !!!
