Having difficulty! My son just bought a chevy pick-up we believe it is 1939 but unsure. Does anyone have some pictures or can you shed some light on the telltale signs to look for? Thanx

I sent you a picture of a 1939 truck.Note that a 1940 looks ALMOST like a 1939.The 1939 has 3 round dials for the instruments and the 1940 has a large retangular cluster. The 1938 has a one piece flat windshield , 1939 2 piece V shaped. The 1940 has small parking lights on top of the front fenders (if it s original).

Thanx Gene did not receive the picture but by what you told me I am pretty sure it is the 39, with what ya say about the dash tho is my question because the dash is missing on this one. It has the two pc v-shaped windshield, the door handles are over the door reveal.
