I have a 55 1st series 3100 with a 235 engine . I would like to have AC some day. The truck is stock and my daily driver. Any one running AC ?

'Suggest you check with Southern Air. Look 'em up on line. You can then call 'em and discuss it and also get their catalog. They should have parts or a complete kit to put AC on your truck in a neat fashion. It wont be "stock" but it'll keep you cool!

Also, Vintage Air has been at it a long time. They are likely a bit more expensive than Southern Air.

You'll find your 235 will turn the round aluminum compressor with no strain. Your radiator will need to be in very good condition to carry the extra cooling required for AC.

Someone may know how to add AC using some more authentic Chevy parts. In any event, you'll be much happier (as will your 235) using a small aluminum compressor. They turn at almost no engine load. It takes several HP to turn those early compressors.
