I have an original emblem in very good condition....... But the stud is missing. I can solder (it looks like that is how the original was attached).
The question is: will the heat of the solder destroy the blue and white from the other side?
Thanks, Norm

Get in and out quickly and you will be OK. I suggest you use a two part epoxy glue.

Ditto for my '31, the 2-sided tape works great.

Thanks all. I quickly soldered a brass 8 x 32 flat head screw on the back. And used double sided carpet tape. It did not disscolor. I used double lock washers, and did not tighten it too much. Time will tell.

The double sided tape I referred to was made for attaching auto moldings and emblems. I don't know how the carpet tape will work but it doesn't last on my carpets so I would not trust it on an emblem.

I scuffed the back of the grill shell emblem on my 31 and JB welded a 1/4 x 20 on it, that was 11 years ago. Still holding fast.
