Can anyone share where would be the best site to purchase a replacement fuel gauge for my '37 P/U? I can't get mine to work so I've decided to just look for a replacement. However, I haven't had much luck. Thanks

Filling station do a universal one for $39 or $45 ..
but you need to know which resistance range it is 0 to 30 ohms or 0 to 90 ohms..

I have a new sending unit. What I'm looking for is the actual gauge itself. I looked on the Filling Station but couldn't find my style of gauge. Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.

For what it's worth; when I started the restoration on my '37 half ton the fuel gauge did not register either. I thought surely it was a bad gauge. In the course of working on the entire fuel system, part of which was removing the tank for inspection and cleaning, I discovered the float (cork) attached to the gas tank sending unit was nearly disintegrated. I also found the related sending unit wiring was in dire need of replacement and contact cleaning. The gauge now works fine and was not the problem, after all.

Make sure that you have a good ground to the gas tank and the sending unit. You might want to run a jumper wire from the tank to a good ground on the fame as a test to see if the gas gauge will then work.

Jim Carter Antique Truck Parts can help you on fuel gauges and associated sending units. He rebuilt mine for a 1938 chevrolet pickup.
