Sometimes I feel a little silly with my questions but the people on this forum have consistently been tolerant and helpful to a neophyte so here goes; how much radiator hose (length) would be enough for the '31 (I'll be replacing the rubber hose and metal elbow and figured I'd buy a length of hose from FS and cut it to proper shorter lengths) and does the car have a thermostat, if so what is the correct temperature unit to get (the car does not have a heater)?

Best Regards,

Tom

The radiator hose sold by the FS comes in a three foot length same as most auto supply stores. That should give you enough to do your 31 with enough left over probably to do it again. Originally the car was not fitted with a thermostat and some add one while others do not. If you do use one I recommend a 160 degree.

We also have the radiator hose outlet steel elbow for $18.00.

For my driver, I found at Napa a hose with built in elbow so I didn't have to replace the missing elbow.

I bought a foot long piece for the upper and cut it down.
