Hello,
I have a 1935 Delco model 630 radio. When the volume cable is straight the on/off/volume knob works as it should. By that I can feel it switch on and off.
Installed in the car the cable and control head comes out of the side of the box then 90 degrees to where the head bolts to the dash. Now the volume works but she wont switch on and off. All is installed correctly per the "news bulletin" and brochures I found. I removed the cable from the box side and reinstalled with no change.
Any advice?
Thanks

The cable inters the box in any configuration, as it connects to the volume/on-off by means of the guide funnel, it will find the correct position by itself.

Thanks for the input. I got her to work properly as far as the volume/on/off switch is concerned.
I found the factory roof antenna wire under the dash on the passenger side. Unable to find shielded casing that would fit up in the window post, I used small rubber tubing from the window post to the radio. I have no reception in my garage. I am trying to keep it original. I think another antenna may be better for a little reception.

The radio wire connected to the screen antenna is covered with a grounded shield and the length is correct for the radio.

Just a word on the Delco radio. For all intents and purposes is considered an aftermarket radio. There is a correct Chevrolet radio for your car.

My thought is that the screen antenna was intended for the Chevrolet radio, and the routing may be different than where it connects to the Delco radio. That may be the reason it did not connect up to your radio.
