Has anyone noticed the 1930,1931, 1932 Chevrolet windshield wiper knob and plate for sale on eBay? I have a 1931 and I have never seen the header plate. Mine has been missing and I could never find one. $75 for something as rare as this one and it is ready to install. It is chrome, but it will match the chrome reproduction inside door handles I have already purchased some time ago.

Well first off that plate is not on a 32 and I think the wiper on a 32 closed car is a round ball.

Also if you need a knob for your 31, I had some stainless steel ones made a few years ago. Let me know if you need one.

The item for sale is a reasonable facsimile for the '31, although it appears to me that the curved opening for the rod is a bit wider than original. I have one on my '31 which I bought as part of a complete riser assembly a couple of years ago, paid about $125 for whole header assembly including an original plate and knob, all the hardware etc. As for the knob, I understand Model A's used same knob, so there should be some suitable knobs around.

Finally found it. It is 1931 Fisher Body only. The plate & knob look okay, screws are totally wrong (should be slotted). Finish should be nickel plated or stainless not chrome. Knobs are the same as used on Model As so can be purchased from Model A parts folks. If you need the activation wire it is available from the Filling Station. Mighty fine reproduction if I may say so.

I found that the knob's from the model A guys not to be of the right size. That is why I had some made.

I have not found it to be the case. The reproduction knobs I have purchased from Snyders are the same as originals taken from 1931 Chevys. Both Chevy and their major rival purchased wipers motors and parts from Trico. Just like they both used the same supplier (Schrader) for tire stems, etc.

Does anyone have a 31 wiper plate for sale? I don't know of anyone is reproducing them. If the slot is a little wider, something is better than nothing isn't it. The chrome can be stripped to the nickel but why if the aftermarket reproduction interior handles only come in chrome.
The screws are immaterial. Try to find a slotted oval head screw at the hardware store.

I had thought about reproducing the wiper plates in stainless but never did it because didn't find a crying need. Have sent a drawing of the plate a couple of times in the past 30 years. Have one around here somewhere to make drawing again.

The screws should be slotted oval head.
