Watching the barrett Jackson auction from phoenix az last week I do not remember seeing any of the first body style 62--65 run across the block.

Did anybody see any 2 door SS hardtops or 62-63 converts

Mike,
Three early hardtops lot numbers 733,739,1168.
Go to http://www.barrett-jackson.com/ click on all days under 2014 docket and search lot numbers for details.
While your there check out number 1582,a very nice 33 5 window. Jay

Thank you, so there were 3 appeared at Scottsdale and I never saw a one roll across the stage.

Might have been when I was distracted and yelling at the tv producers to get April Rose and jettison her to some other planet. It was hard to watch as the shear amount of commercials in 5 minute spans was enough to drive one to insanity. Ya get to do a lot of channel changing to stop from going nuts watching the same idiot commercials over and over and over......

So B J made some bucks and enough sellers without reserves who believed the B J line of bullcrapola, ya we are BJ , we have the buyers as you watch your vehicle go away down the ramp at $20 thousand less than you expected or were told you could expect to get ??

Your right Mike, all the hype and circus like atmosphere.

Fox News reported over 1,400 cars sold for 100 million and B/J collect 20% of that...Plus the spectators admission which was up 30% this year...Plus 400 venders...Plus bidder registrations, on and on.

Having said that I saw some good buys in the cars we like,30's and 40's. A very nice 41 Special Deluxe business coupe, hammered for $16,000 also a beautiful maroon 40 two door sedan, sold for a $19,500 bid.

What I don't understand is why a 61 VW microbus is worth 148K

Jay with these things you look and go damn, its xmas in Arizona , they are giving them away. Other stuff you shake you head and wonder where people who look and dress like that got their money from ???????

At least there seemed to be less HAIRBALLS CROWDING THE STAGE this year looking to get their mug on tv while talking on their cell phone, ya see me , ya see me ??????? was an f-ugly crowd.

Oh well ,the end of one tv auction is the beginning of the next.

The best way to watch the auctions on TV is to record them on the DVR and watch at a later time. You can fast forward through the commercials, hot rods, and foreign cars.

Is it possible there's a lot of "white powder" money floating aroung some of these auctions?

Interesting way of saying that... I've always wondered too.

But when you watch them on TV (and, yes, I record them for fast-play), it always seems that the OLD geezer with the much-younger gal on his arm wins the $ bid.... That makes TWO things I'm short of.

I usually watch the whole barrett-Jackson auction as much as is on tv speedvision, nothing better to do.

The funny thing is you rarely see a 62--65 nova roll over the block, on TV coverage anyway. The demand for novas seems to be the 66-67 year from what I have observed.
