Also the 1937 oil pan has the dipper troughs and oil nozzles for the splash lubricated rods. Some that might just get in the way of the 235 rods. But only for a few revolutions!!!

Kevin, Kevin, I was just kidding in order to influence Steve enough that he would join the rest of us in our babbitt pounding adventures. Rats! Now I've got to think of something else to entice him. Anyway, I'm wouldn't be surprised that, at some unforeseen, severe speed bump, the weakened crossmember of his doesn't open up like bomb-bay doors and release the engine - like a B-24 on a bomb run. That, at least, must cause some degree of anxiety. Charlie BTW: I was going to say B-17 but they are too sleek in comparison to a 38. Yeah, the B-24 is rather boxy and, thus, may be much more appropriate. 'nother grin. Again I have to chime in to correct poor Charlie..This time in his comparison of cars to air planes. your B-24's are no match for our FW 190's that came out about the same time as My 38 Chevy.......Eastern ED

Adaptor plates,shorter shafts, longer shafts,pressed in sleeves, carter revised pumps, etc. I'm getting dizzy.

Steve I think I could adjust that oil pan to fit even with the dipper troughs. Relocating the sump plug isnt that hard. Tony

The truck crossmember attaches to the rear of the bellhousing so thats why I had no problem.

Bought another 235 today and one I know runs good,its a 61 and not sure if its from a car or truck but has headers and chrome valve and side covers plus alot of extra parts for 200 dollars and will pick up early next week. It came out of a 51 hardtop that is getting a V8.

I am dropping a 261 into a 37 sedan. Instead of modifying the rear cross member, I did a 2 step notch to the rear of the oil pan. The first step solves oil pan/cross member clearance issue and the second step allows removal of the oil pan with the engine in the car.
