I've got the water pump off ('41 Fleetline) and want to clean it up and paint it. I've got the back plate off. That leaves the pulley which is connected to the impeller inside. It's not immediately obvious how that unit separates and I don't want to tear it up.
I can leave it, but it would be easier to clean and paint if I took the pulley off. Suggestions?

Paul If you are only cleaning and painting I would not try to dismantle any further. Tony

I think I agree, Tony. I was able to reach most everything with my cleaning tools. No need to invite trouble.
