I've looked at the wiper tower and I don't see how removing the screw will cause washer fluid to be "sprayed" on the windshield. Was there a nozzle that was needed to get the water to "spray" up on the windshield?

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks guys! That's what I needed. Here are the directions Gene sent:

Once I figured out how the pump worked (and it took me longer than you might think), I knew there had to be something in those holes other than the screws. This means there are a lot of tubes running in and out of the car. Do you need to cut more holes for all the tubes?

Thanks again,
Brian

"Is this some sort of Abbott and Costello routine?"

Ask Macky Wacky.....he is the one that has the wacky postings. I was just curious as to why Macky Wacky made a posting above with no text. wink bigl

By the way, I found that the windshield wiper instructions that you posted are extremely useful and I have printed them out for future reference. Thanks for posting the instructions for all to see.

Here's another version of Gene's diagram with tubing lengths for 39 chev.

[Linked Image from ]

Is there a recommended location to mount the bottle?

The hole it shows the vacuum line from the manifold going through is located more like where they show the hoses from the bottle. There is no other hole on that side of a 38 car for the hoses to pass through the firewall. I would think that running the hoses down and through the speedometer cable grommet would not be an ideal solution.

What manufacturer is your installation instructions from, Mike? Is there any more information on the instructions? Do you have figure 2?

One problem I have is I ran the dual horn wires through that same hole. It's sort of full of stuff right now.

The only other pic I have from an ebay auction is this one and I can't read it.

Anyone out there have a readable set of instructions for 38/39 that shows where to mount the bottle?

Mike
