On all the original vent frames Ive collected the outside is naturally more weathered and the inside sometimes looks darn nice!

Looks like I can drill out the rivets holding the pivot brakets and swapping them will give me better chrome on the outside.

Is there something Im not seeing here or is it a go?

Isn't there a difference in the length of the chrome reach, leaving a little notch for the weather strip on the bottom on the inside? That might look a little strange or might affect the fit.

Correct there is a small differance in length there...
still for a poor boy budget that doesnt include a chorme shop... seems doable...

Also... far as I can tell 37-38-39 will interchange and throw in Pontiac and Olds...

Chevs of the 40s is discontinued but they used to list the vent frame...

As original for 39 since it had the sliding lock... but would fit 37 and 38.
